This Dispensation

🙏🏽''Let your presence fill the nations

As the waters cover the sea

By your spirit their minds will open

And they will come to the light of your word

Oh Holyspirit '' (SINACH)

What has the Lord called us to as his body for this dispensation (time period)?

Every era has a focus and drive that the Lord ushers his people into.

So, what is HIS focus for this time?

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." Matthew 24:14

.

If today was our last day on earth and maybe this hour our last hour (it most likely isn't), what would be most important thing for you to do or say?

I guess our answers would vary based on what we each know. Our individual storage and source(s) of knowledge will be the determinants of our decisions on what is most important. However, God is the ultimate truth and his word holds the answer to this and every question.

I suggest, based on God's word, that what would be truly important is something which matters now and would continue to matter for all eternity. And that would be: 'What did you do with Jesus Christ (the word of God)?'

Jesus Christ is God.

Therefore God said in Luke 21:33-34

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap."

Eternal life, peace and prosperity is in God's word. The work of the Holy spirit through the word of God brings lasting peace and reward.

The greatest thing we can give or do is to give and do that which will never pass away i.e. first and foremost, God and the gift of a love relationship with him through the living word: Jesus Christ.

Eternal life comes from remaining in His word i.e. his 'logos' (written word) and his 'Rhema' which he speaks to us by his Holy spirit today. And this is a fact I can attest to: There is a peace beyond this world only found in a trust relationship with Jesus and his word.(Philippians 4:7)

Despite all the current upheaval in society and this world, our focus should remain Jesus Christ our Lord. Human interventions and solutions don't give the lasting peace and stability we need as much as we think they do. The solution to all things is first and foremost, God's word and his presence. Give Jesus and you have given an eternal Home - relevant for this life and that which is to come.

Christ's vision is that He - the good Shepherd - becomes the one leading his sheep by his word. His vision is that all of us his Church, know his voice personally and intimately. His vision is that we see through the eyes of his spirit. His vision is that the knowledge of the glory of God covers the earth as the waters cover the sea.

The knowledge of God's glory is not something ambiguous. It is revealed in the face of Jesus Christ:

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." 2 Corinthians 4:5-6

The knowledge of the glory of God is in Jesus Christ.

"The Scriptures say, “God commanded light to shine in the dark.” Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ." CEV

.

It is predicted:

"In the last days

the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established

as the highest of the mountains;

it will be exalted above the hills,

and all nations will stream to it.

Many peoples will come and say,

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,

to the temple of the God of Jacob.

He will teach us his ways,

so that we may walk in his paths.”

The law will go out from Zion,

the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."

Isaiah 2:1-3

And also, that

"... the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14

The knowledge of the glory of God is in the face of Jesus Christ. The face of Jesus Christ is seen in the reading, teaching and spread of the Scriptures. As Jesus himself said:

"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." John 5:39KJV

Also,

"Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’” Hebrews 10:7 (Psalm 40:7)

Therefore if there was anytime in human history when the priority should be to proclaim, extol and elevate the person and place of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible in the life of the believer, the Church and the World, this is that time. The most eternal change is that which is done in the spirit of a man and this is only possible by the word of God.

Now is the time to prioritise a relationship with Jesus - the word of God - above all else.

“Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified." Acts 20:32

"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." John10:16

For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls." 1Peter 2:25
