The news that saves

‘’For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile.’’ Romans 1:16 CJB

The biblical good news about the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ is what saves: nothing more, nothing less.

So what exactly is this good news?

The good news is that mankind who have been condemned to physical and spiritual death (by sin) have now had Christ Jesus die (in payment) as a substitute for each and every one of us that lives and will ever live.

- It is that his death was ALL the sacrifice needed to pay for all our sins. In other words, he died the death we were meant to die for the nature of sin we inherited from the first human -Adam.

- It is that God accepted Jesus' payment (sacrifice) made on our behalf!

- It is that all that is now required from us, is to endorse our acceptance of the substitution done on our behalf.

How? By agreeing with his transaction on your behalf! How exactly? By speaking our agreement out in meaningfully accepting the substitution:

Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.’’

That done (with a trusting heart), Jesus’ payment of his death and victory over the grave ( on our behalf) is accrued to you AND therefore the new life he arose with (from the dead) is now yours as well. This is the basic law of substitution!

What this now means is that EVERY human (irrespective of nationality, race, sex, language or any other external differentiating factor) who comes to God through accepting Jesus Christ’s sacrifice receives HIS VERY SAME KIND OF LIFE. The life that Jesus rose up with – the new DIVINE kind of life - becomes YOUR very life essence.

Therefore though we may look different, speak different languages etc., we are one of the very same spiritual DNA.

‘’For we were all baptized (immersed) by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.’’ 1 Corinthians 12:13

Jesus is our unifying factor. In him is the divine life we got by accepting his substitutional sacrifice. Now we live daily his life, growing by feeding on his word and spending time (drinking in) his holy spirit. [1Peter 2:2, Ephesians 5:18]

This is this message that saves the human soul.

It is this message that unifies.

It is this message that transforms the human experience on this earth irrespective of hardships.

It is this message that gives us assurance of an eternity spent with God our father forever in one holy community.

There, we will all glow from within with that same glorious glow. And despite being (from the tribulation period) ‘’a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb’’,

We will all be:

-wearing the same white robes,

-holding the same palm branches in our hands, and

-crying out in loud to our God the very same praise:

“Salvation belongs to our God,

who sits on the throne,

and to the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9-10NIV)

For we have the same Father, same Saviour and are one in spirit and truth. But not just then, but now as well...

''And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! '' 2Corinthians 5:15 - 17

This is what it means to be spiritually minded: to see from the perspective of the spiritual. This is God’s perspective.

.

As we preach this biblical good news, the divine ability stored within it to unify and transform every human soul for all eternity is released and activated. This is where true power lies.

Come Lord Jesus,

Amen
