Make a decision

You cannot put this off any longer.

“How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.”1 Kings 18:21b

Our life consists of a series of decisions. We decide to wear this outfit rather than the other; to vote for this party rather than that, to have long or short hair. Some decisions have little or no bearing on our lives' direction and some have major or even eternal consequences.

The decision for Christ is one of eternal consequence. It is also one area that does not give room for wabbling and indecision. It is one thing to have questions, i.e. trying to find out more, and another to leave things in limbo. You cannot be in between. We either serve the Eternal Creator YHWH (through the way made open by Jesus the Messiah), or we do not.

Jesus said:

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them." John 3:36

God wants you because he created you to be his kind of offspring. As a result, it is only in him we find true life and fulfilment. This is fulfilment transcending the circumstances and situations of our life and this world. I write this statement from experience but do not take my word for it - take God's word and that of millions of people who have known him and walked with him through the centuries. Read the bible, ask other Believers, and read books of those who have stayed the course despite all odds - do something. I beg you, please don't just read, hear and then leave everything in limbo.

Ask questions. Why would anyone give their life to peacefully promote a News unless they are convinced of its truth, goodness and eternal value? [ read 1 John 1:1, Acts 5:31-33, 7]

Some say if 'God is real and wants me he will come and get me'. He has come to get you! That is the good news Jesus brought. It is this same news I and so many others proclaim - the message is unchanging and true:

''For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:

that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

and that he appeared to Cephas,

and then to the Twelve.

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.

Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,

and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born." Paul the Apostle in 1 Corinthians 15:3 -7

This news that Jesus Christ [Messiah] died for our sins is the Good News, because it is the power God uses to save everyone who believes—to save the Jews first, and now to save those who are not Jews. Those who choose to accept this news in their heart and go on to declare their faith in prayer to God [and willing to stand by it before other people], are counted as righteous before God.

We are considered righteous not because we deserve it, but because someone else, i.e. Jesus, paid the price for us to go free. We willingly accepted his payment on our behalf. Phew!

Do not put this off. Today is the day of salvation. Now is the time to make a decision. Outside of God, no one is guaranteed life beyond now. As Paul the Apostle said,

'We are workers together with God. So we beg you: Don’t let the grace that you received from God be for nothing. God says, “I heard you at the right time,  and I gave you help on the day of salvation.”

I tell you that the “right time” is now. The “day of salvation” is now.'  - 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 ERV

There is an urgency from God to see as many people take up his offer of salvation at this time. Why? Because the period for his grace is almost at its end. The next phase is judgment. God judges because he is just. However, because of his merciful nature, he was responsible for providing a just and legal way for any human to be freed from their sin. That way is Jesus Christ.

"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

Take the way. It is singular therefore no one gets confused or misses the way. The time is short. The way is clear.

I encourage you with all my heart to take this way while it is still open. The time is very short.

There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

It is simple : "God accepts people as right with him when they believe like that, deep inside themselves. And when people say clearly that Jesus is Lord, God saves them." Romans 10:10 EASY

"Jesus is the only one who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save anyone. We must be saved through him!” - Peter the Apostle in Acts 4:12

'Elijah approached all the people and said, "How long are you going to be paralyzed by indecision? If the LORD is the true God, then follow him, but if Baal is, follow him!" But the people did not say a word.' 1 Kings 18:21 NET

"No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." - Jesus in Matthew 6:24 NIV
