God is still at work. Just as he is introduced in Genesis chapter 1, as working in creating the heavens and earth, He rested but did not retire, he is still working. As Jesus declared, ''...“My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working." John 5:17.
One of his jobs (as discussed in the Part 1 video) is to continuously scan the whole world to find those whose hearts are whole(perfect) towards him in order to make his power available to them.
Another of his jobs is to ensure all his promises and declarations come to pass. As the Prophet Jeremiah revealed, ''The LORD (YHWH) said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.” Jeremiah 1:12 NIV.
YHWH makes sure his words are fulfilled irrespective of any obstacles or human perceptions of 'delay'. This is perhaps one of his most important virtues. As he declared through the writing of the Psalmist in Psalm 89:34, ''I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered'', He ensures what he says, comes to pass.
Phrases such as, ''Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.'' (Genesis 21:1-2), fill the Bible because that is the zeal of YHWH: He keenly ensures above all other things that his promises are kept. God is at work to do his word, this is why he is described as FAITHFUL.
For this reason, we can look at some of his promises and prophecies that are still relevant to us today and be sure they will be fulfilled: because that's God's job.
Here are two of his applicable promises to us from ancient times:
Genesis 9:11-13 '' I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.''
Joel 2:31 -32a ''The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved;''
''For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.''Psalm 100:5
''If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved'' Romans 10:9
