Just before Christmas 2022, I saw an army of angels descend on the earth. They did not come because it is Christmas, they were sent for the work ahead of us - ahead of Jesus' team of workers. They are part of the regiment of heaven responsible for homeland security and border enforcement - and that is not said as a joke.
Upon our recognition and exultation of Jesus as king in December, the forces of heaven were sent in response to our trust and reverence.
YHWH has chosen to work in partnership with humans, 'but do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?' (Amos 3:3). Till we- the body of Jesus' followers - started to see Jesus as he really is and ourselves as fellow citizens of his triumphant kingdom (our homeland), that particular regiment reserved for this season, could not be sent to us. When Psalm 91:10 says that YHWH "...will order his angels to care for you and guard you wherever you go (CJB)", this was followed on from verse 9 "If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”(NIV).
Note what was said before the despatch of angels:
The Lord (YHWH) is my shelter (home/ Safe place)
followed by:
" and you make the Most High (Elyon, the highest) your dwelling (home),"
When we agreed that Jesus is Lord and not just some baby in a fairy tale, he could show himself to be our fortress - our powerful king. (Psalm 48:3) and Commander of Heavens armies.
Just as in Elisha's case, "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” this is the case for the Church right now. (2 Kings 6:16-17)
There is a job we need to do and the peace of God is required for us to execute it appropriately. This regiment of heaven is here to secure our boundaries so we can focus on the work. Be strong, put your hands firmly on the plough and never look back.
Also, before the new year was ushered in, I was told that this is the season to determine how far you want to be carried by Jesus, I mean how yielded we decide to be to the flow of his spirit is how far we will see him, his glory and fruit in our walk and work with him.
"The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar.
He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was trickling from the south side.
As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep.
He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist.
He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. 6 He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?
Then he led me back to the bank of the river.”
(Ezekiel 47: 1- 6)
The river flowed from the Temple and as it flowed, its depth increased and as you read on, on either side of the riverbank was flourishing vegetation and wildlife.
And verse 10:
"Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea."
12, " Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”
This river has started to flow but it's depth is meant to increase. The river is the spirit and life of Jesus flowing from the temple of God which is the body of Christ I.e. me and you -followers yielded to Jesus. [John 7:38]
It is the depth of the river that led to an abundance of fish of various kinds i.e. people brought to Christ from all nations and tribes. [Matthew 4:19] With the healing to the nations as an off-shoot [of the fruitful flourish of a people full of the spirit and life of Jesus], "because the water from the sanctuary flows to them"!
Now is the time to prioritise the spirit of Jesus, his word and the majesty of his name and we will begin to see our world and Kingdom flourish like never before.
